Getting Your Diploma

The following will cause delays in getting your diploma:

• Library holds: All library materials must be returned. Contact: library@berklee.edu 
• Student account holds: All financial obligations must be resolved. Contact: onestop@berklee.edu
• Failure to complete all program requirements for graduation
• Failure to submit the Diploma Request form

*Once you resolve a hold, please notify gradspecialist@berklee.edu so your diploma can be requested.

No. Berklee provides each graduate with one diploma. However, should a diploma be lost, stolen or damaged, you may request a replacement diploma.

Students who complete an internship or study abroad program to fulfill remaining credit requirements will be graduated based on the semester in which they completed the final internship/study abroad program requirements and will be emailed the diploma request form upon graduation.

Check the country's regulations to see what is required to validate a diploma from Berklee College of Music. The country in question may require an apostille.

Berklee strongly suggests that international students use their legal name on their diploma to avoid educational record verification issues. If a graduate changes their name and needs a new diploma with their new name, they will need to request a replacement diploma.

No. Double major graduates receive one diploma with both majors printed on it.

Two weeks after final grades are posted for your final semester, please submit a verification of enrollment and/or graduation. 
 

Academic honors are printed on diplomas and official transcripts.

Summa cum laude: GPA 3.85 – 4.00 

Magna cum laude: GPA 3.70 – 3.84 

Cum laude: GPA 3.50 – 3.69

No. Minors and specializations are not printed on diplomas. However, they are printed on official transcripts.

Diplomas are not sent with tracking by default. To have your diploma mailed to you with tracking, you will need to attach a prepaid shipping label to the diploma request form you submit.

Please know that diplomas shipped to addresses outside of the United States must select the prepaid shipping label tracking option in the diploma request form.

After you submit the diploma request form, it generally takes 8-10 weeks to receive your diploma.

Printed diplomas are 8.5 x 11.

No. Graduates receive a facsimile diploma in a padded cover at the commencement ceremony.

Official diplomas are mailed directly to students after students submit a diploma request form.
