Tyren Freeman
Career Communities: Production and Design
Tyren Freeman (he/him) is an arts administrator, producer, artist, and experienced higher education professional from Boston. Prior to coming to Berklee, he worked at Tufts University in their career center and the dean of student affairs' office, and at New England Law, Boston, in faculty services. He works with students to explore their passion and interests, and to prepare them to launch their careers.
In his advising role, he takes an individualized approach to guide students in identifying, articulating, and leveraging their skills to seek opportunities, with an emphasis in the areas of production and design. He also works to provide career resources, programs, and support to special cohort groups such as first-year students, graduating students, and the Black Scholars Initiative (BSI). Additionally, he supports career engagement efforts and marketing and promotion of career events and initiatives.
Alongside his work as an administrator, he has a musical background as an artist, engineer, and producer. He started his career as a performing artist in the Boston hip-hop scene and now focuses on working with up-and-coming artists and creative groups to provide high quality productions.
He holds a B.A. in sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, biking, physical fitness, and spending time with family.
