Biography

Ty-Juana L. Flores is an Afrolatina with Panamanian roots from Roxbury, Massachusetts, who is dedicated to building a better world through the arts. As an arts administrator and thought partner in shifting organizational culture, she has held various roles in design, higher education, philanthropy, and city government. Prior to becoming a higher education professional, she worked for several private label companies and studios in New York City that produced womenswear apparel for brands like Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Lord & Taylor.

Over the years, she has been a change agent and contributor to Berklee's campus culture through various roles within the institution and is currently the director of Berklee's Identity-Based Programs (IBP). Under her leadership, she's played a critical role to increase retention and graduation rates for program participants and in fall 2023 was responsible for successfully launching Berklee's inaugural SOMOS Latinx program, which celebrates the diversity within Latinx/Hispanic culture.  

Outside of Berklee, she is a champion for the arts and creative economy and serves as a member of the Boston Cultural Council (BCC) board in the City of Boston's Mayors Office of Arts and Culture.
