Thrive Key Performance Indicators
To measure Berklee's progress towards the Thrive Strategic Direction, members from across the institution identified 13 key performance indicators (KPIs). These KPIs serve as a quantitative frame of reference for Thrive's three key priorities:
- Enable students to graduate at higher rates with less debt.
- Support students to have a high-quality, engaging experience.
- Prepare students for purposeful, successful, sustainable careers.
While these KPIs do not provide detail on every initiative at Berklee, they represent overarching metrics that we hope will be impacted positively by work done by Berklee's faculty and staff. KPIs for each of Thrive's key priorities can be found below.
Enable Students to Graduate at Higher Rates with Less Debt
Six-Year Graduation Rate
Six-year graduation rate of first-time full-time students entering Berklee, as reported to IPEDS
First-Year to Second-Year Retention
Percent of first-time, full-time undergraduate students retaining from their first fall to the second fall, as reported to IPEDS
Second-Year to Third-Year Retention
Percent of first-time, full-time undergraduate students who retained from their second fall to the third fall
First-Year to Third-Year Retention
Percent of first-time, full-time undergraduate students who retained from their first fall to the third fall
Average Student Debt at Graduation
Average per undergraduate borrower, cumulative principal borrowed loans
Support Students to Have a High-Quality, Engaging Experience
Likelihood to Recommend Berklee
Percent of graduates who are "likely" or "very likely" to recommend Berklee to others

Percent of graduates who report being "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with how Berklee prepared them for their plans after Berklee
