Presidential Search Update, March 27, 2024

Dear Berklee Community,

I’m reaching out to provide you with a brief update on our search for Berklee's next president.

Thanks to your valuable insights, gathered from the online survey and listening sessions held earlier this year, we compiled more than 150 pages of confidential institutional research. This feedback was critical in informing the presidential position description.

We submitted nearly 100 of your candidate suggestions to our search firm, Heidrick & Struggles, which supplemented the list with additional names from its network. I am thrilled to share that we have identified an outstanding initial group of candidates representing diverse backgrounds ranging from higher education to the private sector.

We are currently evaluating the experiences and interests of these candidates, with interviews scheduled to begin this spring. Following this phase, the presidential advisory committee, a group that includes students, faculty, and staff, will engage with the finalists before the search committee makes its recommendation to the Board of Trustees.
