Berklee Presidential Search Update, May 22, 2024
Dear Berklee community,
This month, we experienced another incredible commencement concert as well as multiple celebrations and ceremonies at Berklee. The talent and passion I witnessed not only served as a reminder of the energy and creativity that make our community so special, but it also underscored how critical it is that we find a leader who can harness and elevate those qualities as we move into our next era.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of our search committee, and guided by your feedback, the Berklee community, we are making significant progress in finding that leader. In April, we conducted our first round of interviews with a select group of candidates via Zoom. These initial discussions helped us better understand each candidate’s background and possible fit with Berklee’s unique culture and aspirations. We are now in the next phase of the search, where we are meeting with a smaller subset of these candidates in person. This allows us to delve deeper into each candidate’s vision for Berklee’s future.
This summer, we will narrow this group to a small number of finalists. These individuals will have the opportunity to engage more extensively with members of our search committee, as well as meet the advisory committee and the president’s cabinet before we recommend our final candidate to the Board of Trustees for approval.
Thank you again for your ongoing support and dedication. Your hard work and commitment are what make Berklee the extraordinary place it is.
Sincerely,
Bill Kaiser
Chair, Berklee Presidential Search Committee
