Latoya Lee
Latoya Lee (she/her), a music executive with over 15 years of experience, has helped shape platinum-selling records and worked with talent whose work has made a lasting impact on popular culture. Lee’s passion for music ignited early, sparked by Boyz II Men’s “On Bended Knee.” With a stepfather who owned a recording studio and record label, she was immersed in the industry from age 10, balancing school, band, and basketball with long hours in the studio.
Determined to turn her passion into a career, Lee earned a degree in journalism from Georgia State University, where she honed the communication skills that would serve her well in the business. She began her professional career at Konvict/Buvision, where her talent for discovering new artists quickly led to a promotion from assistant to A&R.
Over six transformative years as an A&R executive at Warner Music Group, Lee played a pivotal role in the success of Trey Songz’s Trigga, Trigga Reloaded, and Tremaine albums, which featured hit singles like “Na Na,” “Slow Motion,” and “Touchin, Lovin” featuring Nicki Minaj. She also contributed to chart-topping hits like Flo Rida and Sage the Gemini’s “GDFR,” and played a key role in crafting soundtracks for blockbuster films, such as Furious 7, The Fate of the Furious, and Suicide Squad.
No stranger to Berklee’s talent, Lee collaborated with Berklee alum Charlie Puth, lending her voice to the RIAA Diamond-certified hit “See You Again” with Wiz Khalifa, and later worked with another Berklee alum, Xenia Manasseh, signing her to a publishing deal.
As an A&R executive, Lee shaped major artist projects and signed and developed artists like Sabrina Claudio and Dancehall star Kranium. Her expertise extended into music publishing as vice president of creative at Atlas Music Publishing, where she nurtured songwriters and producers who crafted hits for artists like G-Eazy, Ty Dolla $ign, and Chris Brown, to name a few. Additionally, she earned a Grammy Award certificate for managing a producer who contributed to Nas' Grammy-winning album King’s Disease.
As director of industry relations at Berklee, Lee is committed to empowering students by helping them develop their talents and build meaningful industry connections. Her goal is to create a supportive environment where students can thrive both creatively and professionally. With her extensive industry experience and dedication to student success, she strives to bridge the gap between education and the ever-evolving music business.
Rooted in her Jamaican heritage and shaped by her Atlanta upbringing, Lee brings a broad perspective and a strong sense of pride to everything she does. When she’s not immersed in music, she enjoys playing video games, embracing life with the same passion and energy that define her career.
