Visiting Artist Series: JP Saxe (Virtual Event)
The Berklee Visiting Artist Series is a live, interactive forum featuring some of today's most innovative professional performers and creators. These moderated discussions will focus on the topics of artistry, entrepreneurship, and social justice, and students will have the opportunity to actively participate by posing questions directly to guests. This event features a live interview with singer-songwriter JP Saxe.
Born in Toronto and based in Los Angeles, singer-songwriter JP Saxe always finds a way to cut beyond the surface, tapping into universal emotions and human experience. His powerful duet with Julia Michaels, "If the World Was Ending," has been streamed over a billion times to date and became his first global chart hit, peaking at no. 9 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 (U.S.) and no. 14 on the U.K.’s Official Charts, where it remained in the Top 40 for 12 weeks.
In February, Saxe released his anticipated six-track debut EP, Hold It Together, receiving praise from Sunday Times Culture, The Line of Best Fit, Evening Standard, Dork, and tmrw, among others. He also completed a nationwide tour with Noah Kahan and joined Lennon Stella on her European tour last winter. His most recent single, "A Little Bit Yours," came off the back of his debut MTV Video Music Awards performance. Watch the music video for it here.
