Tenacious B delivers an hour of hard-hitting rock music written by the legendary band Tenacious D. This tribute features face-melting solos, tear-jerking moments, and plenty of humor in honor of the world's greatest bearded bards.
Rei Shimamura, a jazz vocalist and composer, presents her original compositions alongside a talented five-horn jazz ensemble. Drawing inspiration from the sounds she discovers on earth, she brings her voice to life through her music.
Moon Star is a rock band that blends jazz and world music influences to create a unique sound. Their repertoire includes songs by Chick Corea, Kansas, TOTO, and Black Sabbath, as well as non-Western artists such as Dhafer Youssef, Ilaiyaraaja, and M.S. Viswanathan. The set also features original jazz-rock compositions by the band's drummer and leader, Akash Nandakumar.
Professors Andrea Capozzoli and Elena Koleva present an evening of Brazilian vocal jazz styles by various composers, including Antônio Carlos Jobim, Djavan, Dani Gurgel, and many more. Student performers from the Vocal Department will perform both traditional and contemporary arrangements.
