This concert celebrates Andrew Mark’s one-year journey with the five-string piccolo cello. Repertoire will include some of the earliest works written for solo cello as well as compositions by Bach, Corigliano, and Frazin.
Boston Conservatory at Berklee piano students compete in an internal competition, performing major concerto repertoire. Winners will perform their complete concertos on Wednesday, January 29 at 7 p.m.
String Masters Series presents Michael Casimir, violist with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and grand prize winner of the Hudson Valley String competition, accompanied by pianist Tae Kim, a collaborative artist at New England Conservatory and the Heifetz International Music Institute.
Yuchen Lu is a rising star in the viola world, having won first prize at the Klein International String Competition, second prize at the Lionel Tertis viola competition, and third prize in the Johansen International Competition. He will be joined by pianist Tae Kim in a recital featuring works by Bach, Brahms, Enescu, Rochberg, and a contemporary work by Yanjun Hua.
