The Berklee Percussion Department presents Max Roach 100, a concert celebrating the centennial year of legendary drummer, percussionist, bandleader, educator, innovator, and humanitarian Max Roach. Led by Department Chair Yoron Israel, the multimedia concert will feature faculty members Francisco Mela, Jon Hazilla, Neal Smith, Ernesto Diaz, Billy Kilson, Mark Walker, Sergio Bellotti, Alberto Netto, Skip Hadden, and Ivana Bilic, along with special guests saxophonist Bill Pierce and dancer/choreographer Mickey Davidson, both of whom have been past collaborators with Roach. Also performing are accompanists pianist Laszlo Gardony and bassist John Lockwood.
