Yuchen Lu, violist, received his Master of Music degree at the Juilliard School with Carol Rodland, where he is a teaching assistant of Rodland’s studio. Previously, he studied at New England Conservatory with Kim Kashkashian. Lu won first prize at the Klein International String Competition, second prize at the Lionel Tertis viola competition, and third prize in the Johansen International competition for young string players. Lu has attended the Marlboro Music Festival, Bowdoin Music Festival, Yellow Bran, and Morningside Music Bridge, and was a member of the Seiji Ozawa Orchestra Academy and New York String Orchestra Seminar. Lu will join forces with pianist Tae Kim in a recital featuring works of Bach, Brahms, Enescu, Rochberg, and a contemporary work by Yanjun Hua.
