Members of the Ajda Stina Turek Trio hail from Slovenia and Serbia. Each is an experienced performer and composer who has collaborated with recognized artists from around the world. The trio features the acoustic sound of vibraphone and double bass, blended with Turek’s soft and playful voice.
Turek is a 23-year-old Slovenian jazz vocalist who is studying jazz performance at Berklee College of Music. Known for her mature interpretation of jazz standards and musical improvisation, she plans to release her debut album in March 2018, followed by a tour of Europe and the United States.
Vid Jamnik was born in Slovenia in 1993. After meeting his mentor Boško Petrović at a summer jazz school in Croatia in 2005, Jamnik became enthralled by the vibraphone. He has performed with many renowned musicians and ensembles, including Jimmy Cobb, Boško Petrović Trio, Georgie Fame, Jim Rotondi, and Stefan Milenkovich.
Petar Krstajić is a bass player who combines electronic music with jazz and folk Serbian music. He is an experienced performer and band leader. He also arranges and composes. Krstajić has played with David Binney, Terri Lyne Carrington, Marko Djordjevic, Tim Miller, and Darren Barrett. He plans to release an electronic folk/jazz album at the end of this year.
