Annual Hip-Hop Concert with Kid ’n Play
Africana Studies is honored to announce that the iconic rap duo Kid ’n Play will be inducted into the Berklee Hip-Hop Hall of Fame. Renowned for their upbeat party anthems and commitment to clean lyrics, the duo released three albums between 1988 and 1991: 2 Hype, Kid ’n Play's Funhouse, and Face the Nation. Kid 'n Play ventured into film, comics, and animation, building on their musical success. Their breakout role in the House Party franchise further solidified their stardom.
Boston-based historic breakdancing group the Floor Lords and hip-hop educator and activist Cindy Diggs will also be inducted.
Boston's US ambassador of hip-hop and cultural exchange, Jazzmyn RED, will host the concert, which will feature performances by Kid 'n Play, the Floor Lords, and Berklee students.
