Salt Cathedral(Opens in a new window) is the genre-defying NYC-based duo of Juliana Ronderos and Nicolás Losada. Hailing from Bogotá, Colombia, they are celebrated for their ability to fuse elements from the vanguard of electronic music, a scope of global rhythms, and Caribbean dance culture to create an inimitable pop sound that is as accessible as it is adventurous.

The two friends met in music school and began releasing songs pushing against the pillars of alternative music. Amongs their releases are three EPs, multiple singles, and a debut full-length album, CARISMA, released in May 2020. Their multicultural approach has resulted in diverse collaborations with artists such as New Orleans bounce pioneer Big Freedia (featured in Beyonce’s ‘’Formation’’), Brazil’s MC Bin Laden, legendary dub producer Lee “Scratch” Perry, and Mexican singer Ximena Sariñana.

2024 saw Salt Cathedral releasing their second studio album, Before It’s Gone. The album self reflects on time and the anxieties of living in a hyperconnected world that is both beautiful and in danger. With themes such as the fears of climate change, complacency, cellphone addiction, and trust, they weave a sonic world that feels both prescient and hopeful.
