Biography

Peter Labbat is a managing partner of Energy Capital Partners (ECP). He is involved in all areas of the firm’s investment activities, and serves as the chairman of the Investment Committee and Valuation Committee. Labbat is also a member of ECP's Risk and ESG committees. 

Prior to joining ECP in 2006, Labbat spent 13 years in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division. He began his career within Goldman Sachs’ Mergers and Acquisitions Department. As a managing director at Goldman Sachs, Labbat had senior-level coverage responsibility for electric and gas utilities and independent power companies throughout the United States. He was also responsible for mergers and acquisitions in the natural resources sector. 

Labbat received a BA in economics from Georgetown University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
