Dani & Debora Gurgel Quarteto Meets Berklee
Dani & Debora Gurgel Quarteto—or DDG4— brings a mix of traditional and modern rhythms, elaborated harmonies, and improvisations to their original songs and carefully arranged covers of Brazilian jazz and pop tunes. Tonight, they also will be performing music as the DDG19 Big Band, featuring an all-student Berklee ensemble.
Their music is an inseparable union of instrumental melodies, soulful samba scatting, and thoughtfully crafted lyrics. Each recording captures the spirit of a live performance, brimming with energy and spontaneity. The dynamic live performances are filled with the joy of long-established musical collaboration and connecting with the audience through a journey of musical intimacy and interaction.
The DDG19 Big Band includes DDG4, five saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets and two more flutes. With stunning arrangements by Debora Gurgel and Big Rabello’s contemporary music production, their original music will be multiplied by 19 of Berklee’s finest musicians into a breathtaking concert that fills one’s ears with delight.
This concert is produced by Fernando Brandão with musical direction by Utar Artun.
