Caitlyn Smith / Andrea Davidson
One of the most celebrated songwriters in Nashville, Tennessee, Caitlyn Smith's new album Starfire creates a portrait of an artist as a young woman, full of insightful observations, personal revelation, and commitment to craft. "Each song is a little snapshot of something I picked up along the way," says Smith. Powerful and nuanced, the record marks the arrival of a true musical force.
Though she began her career as a performer, in recent years Smith has become a breakthrough songwriter, with her compositions recorded by artists such as James Bay, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, John Legend, and Meghan Trainor (with whom she cowrote the multiplatinum duet "Like I'm Gonna Lose You"). Upon her return to the stage, tastemakers immediately began taking notice: Rolling Stone called Smith's voice "soaring and expressive," and Elle magazine praised her "powerful, affecting songs." Smith was named one of the "top female vocalists" on Billboard's SXSW 2017 Music Discovery.
Andrea Davidson is an indie/pop singer-songwriter known for engaging audiences as a multi-instrumentalist and powerful solo performer. Davidson has toured extensively in the United States and overseas, opening for a diverse roster of renowned figures, including Robert Earl Keen and the Dali Llama. Davidson has spent recent years focused on honing her craft in Nashville. After two and a half years of solo writing, cowriting with multiple acclaimed songwriters, and stepping into the studio with Grammy Award–winning producer Jay Joyce, Davidson is thrilled to be planning the release of her next album and forthcoming tour.
