Paul Daigneault

Paul Daigneault joined Boston Conservatory in 2002 and teaches the courses Junior Musical Theater and Senior Directing Emphasis. He is the founder and artistic director of SpeakEasy Stage Company in Boston, where he has produced more than 100 Boston premieres. His SpeakEasy directing highlights include Violet (2016); Mothers & Sons; Big Fish; The Color Purple; and In the Heights, among many others. His production of Parade won the 2008 Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Director, Midsize Company, and Bat Boy: The Musical won the 2003 Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Director, Small Company. Daigneault's regional credits include Grand Hotel and Nine (the Conservatory and the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music); Rent, City of Angels, Sunday in the Park with George, and Merrily We Roll Along (the Conservatory); and Into the Woods, Urinetown, and Blue Window (Boston College).

Daigneault is the recipient of several prizes, including the Boston Theater Critics Association Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence in 2014 and the Boston College Arts Council Alumni Award for Distinguished Achievement in 2007. Outside the theater, he serves on the board of the intensive care unit patient and family advisory council at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He lives in Brookline, Massachusetts.
