By taking foundational courses at one of these schools and doing well, you may transfer credits to Berklee and put yourself on a more affordable path to a Berklee degree. Which institutions hold credit-transfer agreements with Berklee?
Berklee has agreements with schools around the world. As of 2024, these schools are known as Berklee Global Partners. For the full list, see Global Partner Programs.
Note that Berklee maintains additional institutional partnerships that do not involve credit transfer agreements.
Will going to an educational institution that holds credit-transfer agreements with Berklee guarantee my acceptance to Berklee?
No. Though attending one of these schools will help prepare you for Berklee, it does not mean you will be accepted to Berklee. To transfer to Berklee, you will need to apply and be accepted.
Do I need to earn a minimum grade in a course to transfer its credits to Berklee?
Yes. In order to transfer any course credits, you must earn a grade of at least a C (2.00/4.00 scale or 7.60/10.00 scale). For most music core courses, the minimum grade required to transfer course credits is a B (3.00/4.00 scale or 8.20/10.00 scale). How many credits can I transfer to Berklee? Which subjects or credits can I transfer?
The courses eligible for credit transfer vary with each institution. Click on the name of your institution from the full list, and consult the "Required Courses" area to find out which courses are eligible for credit transfer. Please note that all Bachelor of Music students must complete at least 60 credits at Berklee regardless of the number of credits transferred.
Can I transfer credits to Berklee that I earned at schools that do not have a credit-transfer agreement with Berklee?
Berklee accepts courses in liberal arts, music history, music business, and music technology from institutions that do not hold credit-transfer agreements with Berklee. For information about transferring credits from schools without a credit-transfer agreement, see Transfer Credit Services.
