Student Concert to Celebrate Late Music Icons
With Icons: The Music Lives On, students at Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee will perform their first “Bridge the Gap” concert since the two institutions merged. The concert on Tuesday, November 1, at 8:00 p.m. at the Berklee Performance Center will feature the music of more than 20 artists who have died in the past 35 years, including Prince, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and Amy Winehouse, among many others.
Bridge the Gap is a student-run organization founded in 2015 to provide an environment of collaboration and cooperation between students at Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and this inaugural concert will feature more than 30 performers. Bridge the Gap selected the work of artists who represent the diverse musical cultures of the college and Boston Conservatory.
“Bridge the Gap represents a newly merged community of leaders, artists, and peers,” said Lucas Carbonneau, the group’s founder. “The concert on November 1 will be the first chance for Bridge the Gap to showcase the musical collaboration between students at Berklee and the Conservatory.”
Carbonneau says the group will continue to highlight the talents of students from the recently merged institutions with additional shows in the future.

Tickets for Icons: The Music Lives On are $8 in advance and $12 at the door (for Berklee students with valid ID, tickets are free in advance and $4 at the door).
Tickets are also available in person at the Berklee Performance Center, located at 136 Massachusetts Avenue. The box office is open Monday through Saturday, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the performance start time.
