Core Software

Required Software

All incoming Berklee College of Music students will need to use Apple’s Logic Pro X as part of their core curriculum studies.  

If you do not already own Logic Pro X, you may purchase it on Apple's Logic Pro X website(Opens in a new window).

Recommended Software

Music notation is an important element of your core curriculum. Free notation applications you may wish to install and use are:

• Dorico SE(Opens in a new window)
• musescore(Opens in a new window)

Microsoft Office(Opens in a new window) is also available to students through an institutional license. Students will only have access to this software while enrolled at the college. Access requires active Berklee OnePass credentials.

Students are not able to purchase software through Berklee, and any software you may need must be purchased by you directly from the vendor or through third-party retailers.

• entering Boston Conservatory at Berklee students;
• entering BA in Music Industry Leadership and Innovation students;

Computers with required and recommended core software applications are available for use in the Creative Technology Center.
