Plini Talks New Sounds with Young Guitarists
Australian guitarist Plini, who's consistently ranked as one of the world's best progressive rock guitarists, was on campus this week to talk chops with guitar students. After getting a late start due to a delay at the airport ("Luckily we're in a field where improvisation is respected," he quipped), his clinic shifted between live demos of works in progress and a candid Q&A with the audience.
"My goal with writing guitar parts or music in general is always to bring together things that I like that haven't been brought together before. I think if you can do that in a way that is different to what has been done before, that's what makes it original and personal, because we're all using the same gear and notes."
