The Jazz Composers Alliance Presents the JCA Orchestra

The Jazz Composers Alliance will present a program of new, adventurous compositions for the 21-piece JCA Orchestra. Compositions are by resident composers David Harris, Darrell Katz, Bob Pilkington, and Mimi Rabson. The JCA Orchestra composers have a wide variety of stylistic influences, and unique approaches to composition and ways to integrate improvisation as a compositional device. The JCA Orchestra, founded in 1985, has released 12 critically acclaimed CDs and has had appearances with many illustrious guest composer/performers including Henry Threadgill, Julius Hemphill, Dave Holland, and Maria Schneider.
