Matt Jenson, a member of Berklee's Piano Department, presents an album release concert for Unmarked Routes, featuring an evening of ambient-neoclassical-dub-piano-with-electronics, a string quartet, woodwinds, and dance. It’s a haunting, immersive sound experience, where ethereal, gauzy melodies and harmonies seamlessly collide with decolonized electronic soundscapes in a slow motion sonic bath of drone-tones, trance rhythms, and wonder.
Jenson will be joined by a cadre of players and dancers, including Catherine Bent (cello), Bengisu Gokce (violin), Mimi Rabson (violin/viola), Stan Strickland (woodwinds and more), Carey McKinley (dance), and Sarah Slifer Swift (dance).
Join them for an evening of musical journeying along Unmarked Routes through sonic hypnogogy, where thoughts of division have no safe harbor, and with the lucid assurance that a beautiful outcome will bloom if together we direct our attention to it.
