Biography

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Brent Bourgeois has always created music imbued with a groove. He started playing serious funk and jazz in his mid-teens, and by the mid-1980s was lead singer and principal songwriter in the Island Records band Bourgeois Tagg. The band scored a worldwide hit with the Todd Rundgren–produced song, “I Don’t Mind at All.” After a couple of solo records, which included the hit single “Dare to Fall in Love,” Bourgeois moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and became an artist/producer/songwriter, culminating with a five-year stint as vice president of A&R at Word Records.

In the mid-2000s, Bourgeois moved his family to Northern California. He is a music composer and A&R manager of music composers for Facebook.

Brent has been married to his wife Mary Ann for 34 years. They have four children: Adrian, 30, Delaney, 26, Corey 25, and Natalie, 19, who is a freshman at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
