Presented by Tony Carbone, assistant professor of Music Production & Engineering and sponsored by the Music Business Club
In preparing to turn your music into money, there needs to be a well-defined process for submitting music for licensing, advertising, film, and record release. There also needs to be a well-defined structure to collect revenues from these revenue streams. We will discuss the "whys" as well as the "how tos" of the process and structure, in order to meet the demands of an industry that doesn't always have a direct path, but does have a variety of ways to monetization.
Tony Carbone has been a faculty member at Berklee since 1987. He has written and produced records for a variety of indie and major labels. His songs have been licensed on various album compilations, films, radio drops, TV, and corporate themes. He is the owner of Ridgecrest Music, BMI and is currently an artist on Quark Records.
