Chief of Staff Melissa Howe performed in the Boston Landmarks Orchestra’s summer season. The final concert honored the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, with narration by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.
Associate Professor Dave Howard traveled to Calabria, Italy, for performances including a show at the Roccella Jazz Festival.
Professor Neil Leonard and his wife, María Magdalena Campos-Pons, were featured in installations at the Stephan Stoyanov Gallery in New York City.

Vox One, featuring Jodi Jenkins-Ainsworth, Yumiko Matsuoka, Paul Stiller, Paul Pampinella, and Tom Baskett, sang “I Know What Love Is” on Don White’s forthcoming DVD.
Richard Boulanger, Michael Bierylo, and Kari Juusela hosted the CSound Conference at Berklee in October, featuring John Chowning, Jean-Claude Risset, and many alumni guest artists.

Film Scoring Chair George S. Clinton was named an ambassador to the Society of Composers & Lyricists.
Assistant Professor Christine Fawson released the CD My Side, featuring Dino Govoni, Ricardo Monzon, and Scott Tarulli.
Music Therapy Professor Kathleen Howland gave the lecture “Music and the Brain” at the Panama Jazz Festival.
Dean Darla Hanley presented “Jazz Standards of Love” and “Taking Care of Business” at LICEU Conservatory in Barcelona. She also authored articles for the 2014 Resource Handbook for Academic Deans.
Professor Victor Wallis wrote “Song and Vision in the U.S. Labor Movement” for Sounds of Resistance: The Role of Music in Multicultural Activism.
Professor Kris Adams released the album Longing, featuring numerous Berklee faculty members.
Assistant Professor Caroline Harvey was chosen for the 2014 Steelgrass Residency in Kauai, HI. She will also be a resident poet on “The Girl Project” in Lexington, KY.

Associate Professor Ivan Sever completed a Pro Tools training course and is a certified Avid user .
In January, Ned Rosenblatt directed a concert by the Berklee Vocal Jazz Ensemble at the International Association for Jazz Education Conference in Dallas, TX.
Professor Joanne Brackeen played a duet with Ravi Coltrane at the Blue Note in New York City. In March she will play and record at New York’s Brookfield Place.
Assistant Professor Marty Walsh completed the album The Total Plan, featuring Abe Laboriel Sr. ’72, John “JR” Robinson ’75, Danny Morris, and others.

Victoria Large’s short story “Before the Earth Shook” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and was published in Carve Magazine.
Emma Romeu published Renovation of the Moon, a Spanish-English book featuring 58 poems.
Associate Professor Tim Ray and Tre Corda, featuring Greg Hopkins and Eugene Friesen, released the CD Squeaky Toy. Ray has performed or recorded with Phil Woods, Scott Hamilton, Greg Hopkins, Kris Adams, Carmen Paris, and Roger Fluet.
Assistant Chair John Kellogg wrote about the urbanization of the Billboard charts for Music and Entertainment Industry Educator’s Association Journal). He has also developed Berklee MOOCs on music business topics.
Ralph Jaccodine produces the radio show Boston Sessions, a performance and interview show with Emerson College’s WERS and Boston Globe writer Jim Sullivan.
Peter Alhadeffand Luiz Buff ’12 coauthored an article for the Journal of the Music & Entertainment Industry Educators’ Association. Alhadeff also spoke at the Boston Bar Association in October.
Percussion Professor Kim Plainfield toured Europe, and performed with Franz Hackl and the Outreach Orchestra in Austria. He also gave clinics in Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia.
Music Education Chair Cecil Adderley had his piece “The Patriot” performed by the Highland Park High School band and the Berklee Wind Ensemble.
Professor Barbara LaFitte was noted in mydesert.com for her English horn solo in Dvorak’s “Largo” from the New World Symphony, during the Boston Pops Orchestra’s Southwest tour.

Professor Danny Harrington was elected to the board of directors for the Newburyport Education Foundation.
A short story by Assistant Professor Mark Polanzak was runner-up for the Calvino Prize, judged by Tobias Wolff. Another of his stories appears in the Winter 2014 issue of The Southern Review.
