Berklee a Les Arts: Antihéroe
On Wednesday, November 20, and Thursday, November 21, at 7:30 p.m., Berklee Valencia presents Berklee a Les Arts: Antihéroe at the Teatre Martín i Soler of the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía.
Berklee Valencia will allocate all funds raised to support Valencian musical societies affected by the recent floods in the region. This aid will be channeled through the Conciertos Solidarios initiative launched by the Federación de Sociedades Musicales de la Comunidad Valenciana (FSMCV).
Like life itself, “Il Trovatore” presents no simple moral dichotomy. Giuseppe Verdi does not paint the grand heroes in shining armor, but rather the antiheroes: figures whose virtues are shadowed by flaws, and whose choices are driven by hearts both fierce and wounded.
Under the curation of Nacho Moltó and the musical direction of Albert Palau, Berklee Valencia performs and discusses the music of Fela Kuti, Joni Mitchell, Astor Piazzolla, Elis Regina, Frank Zappa, Fiona Apple, Hector Lavoe, and Johnny Cash; each of these artists is a testament to the raw beauty of the imperfect soul, which, in struggling against its own darkness, captures something profoundly true.
Tickets are available at Les Arts website for 7 euros.
Berklee a Les Arts is a dynamic collaboration between Berklee Valencia and the Palau de Les Arts that blends music and other artistic disciplines in unique and captivating ways. This series of performances offers a fresh perspective on classic operas, as Berklee’s talented students and faculty create innovative interpretations inspired by the iconic works performed at Les Arts.
